The proposed bill from President Goodluck Jonathan for a Six Year term for Governors and the President (whether motivated by selfish reasons or not) is a totally unnecessary distraction and a disingenuous misplacement of priorities.
The Federal High Court sitting in Owerri, Imo State granted, on May 26, 2011, Dr. S. Okechukwu Mezu’s motion on notice for (1) “an order abridging the time within which the parties in this case may file their papers or processes in this case” and (2) an order that this matter be given accelerated hearing and (3) for such further orders(s) as the Court may deem fit to make in the circumstances and adjourned the case to June 8, 2011 for Arguments and Adoption of Written address on the Originating Summons.

During the recent Presidential elections in Imo States, the people sincerely came out and cast their votes but the electoral officials in most cases took the law into their own hands thumb-printing and casting ballots for people who never showed up for the elections including some who had died in between registration and voting. There was no accreditation in most polling centers even though Presiding Officers recorded fake numbers of accredited voters. As above evidence shows, there was multiple voting by individuals, thumb-printing of ballot papers by presiding officers and their PDP accomplices. A forensic test will more than confirm several ballots bearing same thumb-prints. This was not an election. It is voidable and should be voided and if other elections are to go on these anomalies should be corrected.
It has been an unbelievable odyssey, and an immeasurable privilege to have– journeyed with the Nwajiuba-Mezu CPC Gubernatorial campaign team round the urban and remote rural areas of Imo State in a bid to inform the people on why they should vote for the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC)
